Bill Dutcher plays brutally honest acoustic music.
In his hands, acoustic instruments transform into palettes of tones and textures that propel his multi-faceted compositions to the forefront of solo guitar.
His compositions take each listener on their own journey that provides a sense of escape for the mind.
Bill has spent over 25 years composing and performing. His passion for music has made him into a versatile professional entertainer. Bill’s talents include: six-string, twelve-string, hawaiian guitar, and harp guitar.
When performing live, Bill’s intensity shines through as he visually assaults the strings and sonically leaves listeners perplexed. Exotic tunings, two-handed tapping and percussive techniques, along with his ability to keep listeners captivated, has won over audiences nationwide. Bill’s commitment to music along with his stage experience offers a unique entertainment presentation.
Since his first release, “Solo Guitar”, Bill has recently been included on the worlds first compilation CD of harp guitar music titled, “Beyond Six Strings”.
Bill also contributed guitar work in 2008 to the independant film, “Paper or Plastic”, directed by Alex D. daSilva and Justine Jacob. This film received the “Winner Award of Excellence” – Indiefest and Honolulu Festival and was the winner of the “Official Selection” award - Los Angeles, Austin, Heartland, Sedona and Wisconson
November of 2009 debuts the new release from Bill Dutcher titled, “Finding Time”. A 12 song collection of instrumental fingerstyle compositions encompassing a wide variety of styles and techniques; fusing traditional styles with middle-eastern, classical, blues, country and celtic flavors along with smatterings of improvisational ‘live looping’. Alternate tunings along with two-handed tapping/slapping percussive techniques provide a sound scape for the mind.
2010 will see the next release from Bill Dutcher featuring compositions for the harp guitar and six-string guitar.
